It depends on the test. Some tests require fasting for up to 6 hours.
You'll receive detailed instructions in your confirmation email after booking.
Should I stop taking medication before my test?
Please continue taking all medication as prescribed.
Some medications (e.g. blood thinners like aspirin or warfarin) may affect your results. If unsure, speak with your GP or contact us. Never stop medication without medical advice.
Should I stop taking supplements before my test?
Supplements can affect test results. If safe, avoid taking supplements for 48 hours prior to your test. This includes iron, B12, or biotin, which may influence readings. Always check your preparation guide first.
What happens during the appointment?
A venous blood sample is taken by a nurse or phlebotomist using sterile, single-use equipment.
If your test requires a urine sample, we will advise you during booking.
How long does the appointment take?
Most visits take 10 to 15 minutes, though some may be longer depending on the test.
Can I book more than one test during the same visit?
Yes. You can book multiple panels.
Please review the prep instructions for each, as some may require fasting while others do not. If in doubt, contact us and we’ll guide you.
Who can use your service?
We currently provide blood testing for adults aged 18 and over only.
We do not offer tests for children or minors.
Can I order a test for someone else?
Yes. However, the person being tested must be present during the appointment and must complete a written consent form in advance.
Why do you ask for biological sex during booking?
Some laboratory reference ranges vary by biological sex.
Providing this ensures your results are accurately interpreted.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. All tests are self-requested. You do not need a GP referral to book with us.
All results are reviewed and interpreted by a GMC-registered doctor.
How long do results take?
Most test results are delivered within 2 to 6 working days, depending on the panel.
How will I receive my results?
Your secure, doctor-reviewed report will be emailed to you as a PDF.
In some cases, a secure download link or patient portal may be used.
Will my results show numbers or just positive/negative?
Most results include numerical values with reference ranges for clarity.
Some tests (e.g. certain infections or intolerances) may be reported as positive/negative.
What if I haven’t received my results?
If your expected result timeframe has passed, please email us at hello@nuvivo.co.uk and we will assist you immediately.
Is my information secure?
Yes. We are fully UK GDPR compliant, and all medical data is encrypted, stored securely, and only accessible to authorised personnel.
Can I pay in instalments?

Approval is subject to Klarna’s terms and eligibility criteria.
Can I cancel or reschedule my appointment?
