FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions – Nuvivo Mobile Blood Testing
Do I need to fast before my appointment? Fasting depends on the specific blood test you’ve booked. Some tests require fasting for up to 6 hours. You’ll receive a detailed confirmation email after booking, with all the necessary instructions.
Should I stop taking my medication before the appointment? Please continue taking your medication as prescribed. However, some medications—especially blood thinners like aspirin or warfarin—may affect test results. If you’re unsure, speak with your GP or contact us directly for guidance. Never stop medication without medical advice.
Do I need to stop taking supplements before the appointment? Supplements can affect your test results depending on what you’re testing for. For example, iron supplements may impact your iron levels. If possible, avoid taking supplements 48 hours before your appointment—but only if it’s safe to do so.
Is a blood sample collected during the appointment? Yes. For most appointments, a venous blood sample is taken by a qualified Nuvivo nurse or phlebotomist using sterile, single-use equipment. All details will be confirmed when you book your test.
Is a urine sample collected? Only if the panel you selected requires it. You’ll receive full instructions in your booking confirmation.
Which tests are available? We offer a wide range of test panels including:
-
Full body health screening

Hormones (e.g. testosterone, oestrogen, thyroid)

Who will carry out my appointment? A trained Nuvivo nurse or phlebotomist will visit you at home. All staff are PVG-checked, insured, and follow national infection prevention protocols.
Do you offer testing for under-18s? No, Nuvivo currently provides testing only for adults aged 18 and over.
Can I walk in without an appointment? We currently operate as a mobile-only service. Appointments must be booked online in advance. However, you're welcome to contact us directly for help with bookings.
Where is your clinic located? Nuvivo is currently a mobile-only service. Our registered office is located at:
8 Carmondean Centre Road, Livingston, EH54 8PT
This address is for administrative and operational use only and is not open to the public.
Do reports show numbers or just positive/negative results? It depends on the test. Most results are quantitative and will show your values alongside a reference range.
How will I receive my results? Results are delivered securely by email or through our online platform. You’ll be informed of your delivery method during booking or your appointment.
What if I haven’t received my results yet? If your expected result window has passed, please contact us at hello@nuvivo.co.uk and we’ll look into it right away.
How long does the appointment take? Most appointments last no longer than 15 minutes. We aim to keep it quick, smooth, and stress-free.
Can I book more than one test for the same visit? Yes, you can! If you’re booking multiple panels, please check the preparation instructions for each one. Some may require fasting while others do not. Our team can guide you.
Why do you ask for biological sex at booking? Some lab tests have different reference ranges based on sex. Knowing your biological sex ensures your results are interpreted correctly.
Can I pay in instalments? Yes! You can pay in instalments using Klarna at checkout when booking through our website. Klarna lets you split the cost into interest-free payments.
