44 Biomarkers | Venous Blood Test | Results estimated in 7 working days

Hair loss can be caused by a variety of underlying issues — including hormone imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, thyroid dysfunction, and even autoimmune conditions. The Nuvivo Hair Loss Investigation Panel is a comprehensive blood test designed to help you identify these potential causes so you can take targeted action.

This panel is suitable for both men and women experiencing hair thinning, hair fall, or sudden changes in hair growth. It provides detailed insights across hormone balance, mineral levels, thyroid health, inflammation, and overall metabolic function.

  • Assesses hormone health, thyroid function, iron, zinc, selenium, prolactin, and autoimmunity

How to prepare for this test

To ensure accurate results:

  • Take your sample between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM

  • Avoid vigorous exercise and sexual activity for 48 hours beforehand

  • Avoid nipple stimulation and heavy meals before your test (reduces prolactin spikes)

  • Only take the test when any short-term illness has resolved

  • If you have periods: test between day 2–5 of your cycle (ideally on day 3)

  • If you do not have periods: test any time

  • Avoid fatty foods for 8 hours before the test (fasting not required)

  • Stay well hydrated

  • Avoid biotin supplements for 2 days before the test (unless prescribed)

  • Take your sample at least 24 hours after vitamin or mineral supplements

  • Hormonal contraception may affect results — consider pausing if clinically appropriate

  • Continue thyroxine as usual; take liothyronine or DTE after your blood draw

  • Let us know if you take amiodarone or lithium, as they can affect thyroid markers
