A trained nurse will visit your home in West Lothian or Edinburgh.

How to prepare for this test

Take your sample between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM
-
If you have periods, test between days 2–5 of your cycle (ideally day 3)
-
If you do not have periods, test at any time
-
Avoid intense exercise and fatty foods for 48 hours before testing
-
Stay hydrated
-
Take your sample at least 24 hours after vitamin or mineral supplements
-
Avoid biotin for 2 days prior
-
Do not take Vitamin B12 for 2 weeks prior (unless prescribed)
-
If you take thyroxine, continue as usual
-
If on liothyronine or DTE, take after your blood draw
-
Let us know if you take amiodarone or lithium
