How to prepare
How to prepare
- Take your sample between 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM
- For hormone testing: sample between day 2–5 of your cycle (ideally day 3)
- Avoid strenuous exercise or sex for 48 hours prior
- Avoid fatty meals for 8 hours before your appointment
- Stay well hydrated
- Avoid supplements (iron, B12, vitamin D, folate, biotin, multivitamins) for 48 hours
- Do not take biotin for 2 days before testing (unless prescribed)
- Continue thyroxine as normal; delay liothyronine or DTE until after the test
- Let us know if you take amiodarone or lithium
- Hormonal contraception may influence results — consider pausing if accuracy is essential
