Frequently asked questions

Who is this test for?

It is for adults whose tiredness may stem from nutritional causes. It focuses on iron stores and a full blood count, vitamin B12, folate and vitamin D, which together account for a large share of nutrition-related fatigue.

How does this differ from the Fatigue & Low Energy panel?

This one concentrates on nutritional causes. The Fatigue & Low Energy panel is wider, adding thyroid, blood sugar and organ function. Choose this if you suspect a deficiency, and the broader panel if the cause is entirely unclear.

Should I stop my supplements before testing?

Where possible, pause oral B12 and iron supplements for two weeks beforehand, as recent supplementation raises measured levels and can hide a deficiency you are only partially correcting. Do not stop anything prescribed for a diagnosed condition without medical advice.

Do I need to fast?

Fasting is not required for this panel. If you take iron supplements, a morning sample before your daily dose gives the most representative reading.

Can vegetarians and vegans benefit from this test?

Yes, particularly for B12 and iron. Vitamin B12 occurs naturally almost entirely in animal foods, and plant-based iron is absorbed less efficiently, so deficiency is more common on these diets even when eating well.
