MRI Arthrogram
MRI Arthrogram
A specialist MRI scan performed after injecting contrast dye into the joint space. This technique is especially useful for diagnosing cartilage damage, labral tears, or ligament injuries β commonly used for hip and shoulder imaging.
πΉ How the Process Works
-
Referral & Booking β After you complete your request, a Nuvivo GP will review your details and provide a referral for the scan. We then arrange the appointment at one of our trusted imaging centres.
-
Preparation β In most cases, no special preparation is required. For certain scans, you may be asked to avoid food/drink for a short period or to change into a gown.
-
During the Scan β
-
You will lie on a comfortable, moveable table which slides into the MRI scanner.
-
The scanner makes loud tapping or knocking sounds β earplugs or headphones will be provided.
-
The procedure is completely painless and usually lasts 20β45 minutes, depending on the number of areas scanned.
-
-
After the Scan β You can go home straight away. A consultant radiologist will review your images and prepare a formal medical report.
