Can this test tell me exactly what I'm allergic to?
The test can identify IgE sensitisation to allergens included in the panel. However, a positive result alone does not confirm a clinical allergy.

Does it test for food intolerances?
No. This is an IgE allergy blood test.
It does not diagnose lactose intolerance, coeliac disease, non-IgE-mediated food reactions or other food intolerances.
Does this really test 300 allergens?
ALEX³ investigates approximately 300 allergen measurements using extracts and individual molecular components.
Some measurements come from different components of the same allergen source, so these do not represent 300 completely different allergies.
Can I take antihistamines before the test?
Generally, yes.
Antihistamines usually do not affect blood-based specific IgE testing, unlike some skin-prick tests.

Does a positive result mean I need to stop eating certain foods?
Not necessarily.
A positive IgE result can occur without symptoms. Food avoidance or major dietary changes should not be based on a blood test result alone.
