PRP Scalp Treatment
If you have noticed increased shedding, thinning or a change in the density of your hair, PRP scalp treatment may be one option worth exploring.
At Nuvivo Health, treatment starts with understanding the bigger picture.
Hair thinning can have many different causes, so we do not take a one-size-fits-all approach. Your practitioner will assess your scalp, review your medical history and discuss your concerns before deciding whether PRP is appropriate or whether further investigation should come first.
PRP Scalp Treatment: £200 per session
In-person consultation required before treatment.
What is PRP scalp treatment?
PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma.
A small sample of your own blood is collected and processed to separate the platelet-rich plasma. This preparation is then used in selected areas of the scalp.
Platelets contain naturally occurring proteins and growth factors involved in tissue repair and regeneration.
PRP is used in hair and scalp treatments with the aim of supporting the hair follicles and improving aspects of hair density and quality in suitable patients.
What can PRP scalp treatment help with?
PRP may be considered for some people experiencing:
- Hair thinning
- Reduced hair density
- Early-stage pattern hair loss
- Increased shedding
- Areas of weaker-looking hair
- General concerns about scalp and hair quality
Suitability depends on the underlying cause and pattern of hair loss.
PRP will not be appropriate for every type of hair loss, which is why assessment comes first.
Why the consultation matters
Hair loss is not always simply a scalp problem.
Hormonal factors, nutritional deficiencies, thyroid function, iron status, stress, medication, genetics and other health factors can all potentially contribute to changes in hair.
Your consultation gives us an opportunity to look at your history and decide whether PRP is a reasonable option or whether another step should be considered first.
Where appropriate, we can also discuss whether additional investigation, including blood testing, may be useful before creating your treatment plan.
What happens during treatment?
1. Consultation and assessment
Your practitioner will discuss your hair concerns, medical history, medications, previous treatments and goals.
Your scalp and pattern of thinning will be assessed.
2. Blood collection
A small blood sample is collected during your appointment.
3. PRP preparation
The sample is processed to prepare the platelet-rich plasma required for treatment.
4. Scalp treatment
PRP is administered into the agreed areas of the scalp according to your personalised treatment plan.
5. Aftercare
You will receive appropriate aftercare advice and guidance on what to expect following treatment.
How many sessions might I need?
PRP hair treatment is often approached as a course rather than a single standalone session.
The number of treatments and intervals between them will depend on your individual circumstances and the treatment plan agreed with your practitioner.
Maintenance sessions may also be discussed where appropriate.
You will be given the proposed schedule and costs before deciding whether you would like to continue.
When might I see a difference?
PRP is not an instant treatment.
Hair growth occurs gradually, so any change may take several months to become noticeable.
Depending on the individual, changes may include improvements in the appearance of hair density, thickness or shedding.
Response varies significantly and some patients may experience little or no noticeable benefit.
Hair regrowth cannot be guaranteed.
What is the recovery like?
Most patients can return to normal activities relatively quickly, although temporary effects can occur.
These may include:
- Scalp tenderness
- Redness
- Swelling
- Pinpoint bleeding
- Bruising
- Temporary sensitivity around injection sites
Your practitioner will explain the potential risks, expected recovery and aftercare before treatment.
PRP is only one part of the picture
At Nuvivo, we are interested in understanding why your hair may be changing rather than simply treating the visible area.
Where appropriate, your practitioner may recommend looking at wider health factors before or alongside treatment.
This could include relevant blood testing or referral for further assessment where there may be another explanation for the hair thinning.
The aim is to give you a clearer plan rather than simply sell you a course of injections.
Why choose Nuvivo?

PRP Scalp Treatment
£200 per session
Your practitioner will advise whether a course of treatments may be suitable and explain the proposed schedule and total cost before you commit.
Important treatment information
All patients must attend an in-person consultation with the treating practitioner before treatment.
The consultation includes a review of your medical history, current medications, allergies, hair concerns, treatment goals and any factors that may make treatment unsuitable.
Your practitioner will explain the proposed treatment, potential benefits and limitations, relevant risks and side effects, alternative options including no treatment, expected recovery, aftercare and costs.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions before providing informed consent.
Booking or paying online does not guarantee treatment.
Treatment will only proceed if the practitioner considers it appropriate and you provide informed consent.
Treatment may be postponed or declined following assessment.
PRP treatment is not risk-free. Results and recovery vary between individuals, and no particular improvement in hair density or hair regrowth can be guaranteed.
Treatments are available to adults aged 18 and over.
Prices are per treatment session unless otherwise stated.
