Frequently asked questions

Who is this test for?

It is for adults with symptoms that may reflect poor nutritional status, including fatigue, low mood, brittle nails, poor concentration or frequent illness. It screens the key vitamins and minerals, including vitamin D, B12, folate, ferritin and related markers.

Do I need to fast beforehand?

Fasting is not required. Please avoid taking supplements on the morning of the test so results reflect your baseline rather than that day's dose.

Should I stop my multivitamin before testing?

Ideally pause supplements for one to two weeks so the results show your underlying status rather than recent intake. This matters most for B12 and iron. Importantly, stop biotin containing products for at least 48 hours, as biotin interferes with several laboratory assays.

Can a deficiency exist even if I eat well?

Yes. Absorption matters as much as intake. Coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel conditions, previous gastric surgery, and medications such as metformin and long term proton pump inhibitors all reduce absorption despite a good diet.

What happens if a deficiency is found?

Your doctor-reviewed report explains the finding, its likely significance, and the recommended next step. That may be dietary change, a specific supplement regimen, retesting after a period of correction, or investigation into why absorption is impaired.
